This fall, too, National Széchényi Library will take part in the event entitled European Heritage Days. The title of NSZL’s building historical walk is “Metamorphosis and symbiosis”.
As a final phase of computer network development in National Széchényi Library, our old central network devices will be replaced by new ones. Due to the replacement, our internet services, including the online catalog, thematic websites, LIBINFO, etc., will not be available on Sunday September 11, 2016.
Dr. Maher Mjhid, Consul of the Republic of Iraq paid a visit to National Széchényi Library on August 24, 2016. Following a brief discussion in Arabic with Director-General László Tüske and a guided tour of the Hungarian national library, our guest was shown some of the priceless treasures of our Special Collections in the Apponyi Room of the Library.
On August 18, Katalin Bánkeszi, Honorary Director of the Hungarian Library Institute was granted József Szinnyei Award for her professional work. This award is granted to those who have had an outstanding performance on the long run, and who have promoted the development of their special field by their activities and initiatives.
Services of National Széchényi Library are not available between July 18 and August 22, 2016. During this summer closure, the entire building of NSZL will be closed on Saturday August 20, 2016, so on this day you cannot visit our exhibition entitled Zichy’s Drawn Heroes either. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing you on Tuesday August 23.
