We are awaiting the return of our readers with the lifting of visiting restrictions and reader pass renewal

We are pleased to inform our readers that according to the Government Decree 365/2021 (VI. 30.) our institution can be visited again without any restrictions on number of visitors and the immunity certificate. To compensate for the ‘library-free’ months, the validity of annual reader passes purchased previously in 2020–2021 will be extended by six months, and the validity of six-month reader passes by three months, free of charge.

The reading rooms of our General Collection and Special Collections, as well as the Library of Information and Library Sciences, are open from Tuesday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Reservations are only required in the joint reading room on the 6th floor of the Manuscript Collection, Collection of Early Printed Books and the Map, Poster and Small Print Collection.

It is still compulsory to use the non-contact hand sanitiser provided on arrival and to undergo a body temperature check at the cloakroom.

The workstations in the microfiche reading room are available without limitation, and the shared computers in the reading room and the catalogue area are available for use again.

Books from the repository and open shelf documents are free to use, and the 72-hour quarantine for documents is lifted. For documents that have been put aside, we will offer the possibility of exchanging books between readers again, and our CD/DVD documents will also be available again.

Please note that there is limited access to our library from the Palota Street express elevator.
