On 21 November 2023, the bilingual Petőfi work was presented to the Director General Dávid Rózsa by the Ukrainian national parliamentary representative Liliana Grexa.
The bilingual edition of Sándor Petőfi's epic poem The Apostle, whose publication was supported by the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhhorod, was launched in Uzhhorod at the end of August by the Carpathian State Publishing House of Zakarpattia Oblast.
The book symbolises a community of languages and nations, yet it became the strongest symbol of the desire for peace when Katalin Novák, President of Hungary, presented it to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky when they met in Kiev.
Since the outbreak of the crisis, it has been a priority for the national library to provide assistance and mental support to young people in Ukraine. With the help of advocate Liliana Grexa, we are once again taking part in a great initiative, distributing fifty copies of the bilingual The Apostle to local school libraries where refugee children are studying.
