Our colleague was granted Markusovszky Award

We are proud to announce that Dr. Sándor Dörnyei, Bibliothecarius Emeritus of our Library was granted the Lajos Markusovszky Award of Orvosi Hetilap (Medical Weekly) on May 4, 2016, for his medical historical publication entitled “Contemporary press on the disease and death of Semmelweis” published in last year’s volume of the weekly (2015, Vol. 156, Issue 18, pp.744-745).

A week earlier, he was elected honorary member of the Hungarian Medical Historical Society, for compiling bibliographies indispensable for medical historical and pharmaceutical historical research.

On behalf of the staff of National Széchényi Library, we congratulate Bibliothecarius Emeritus Dr. Sándor Dörnyei on his award and wish him further success in his work.
