Family-friendly NSZL

On July 19, 2016, the State Secretariat for Family and Youth Affairs at the Ministry of Human Capacities granted a medallion and a personal certificate of merit to National Széchényi Library at the awards ceremony held in Bertalan Székely Hall of the Hungarian State Opera. Handing over the award Katalin Novák, Minister of State for Family and Youth Affairs said that the existing and scheduled family-friendly workplace measures of the 51 award-winning institutions were considered and appreciated.

Out of the nearly 200 applicants, National Széchényi Library was the only library winning an award in the category of budgetary institutions, which entitles NSZL to use the title “Family-Friendly Workplace”.

The outstandingly high support of the project dubbed “Promoting a Family-friendly Workplace in NSZL” makes it possible for the Hungarian national library to organize e- bibliotherapeutic activities and to further develop summer camps for kids.
