Acting Director-General at the head of National Széchényi Library

Applicants for the position of Director-General of National Széchényi Library have been interviewed as required by law.

Prof. Dr. Miklós Kásler, Minister of Human Capacities, with effect from August 23, 2019, appointed Judit Hammerstein as Director-General of National Széchényi Library.

Between 2011 and 2014, Judit Hammerstein was Secretary of State for Culture at the Ministry of Human Capacities, and then Director-General of Balassi Institute from 2014 until 2018. At a general staff meeting held at 1 p.m. on August 22, 2019, Péter Fekete, Secretary of State for Culture of the Ministry of Human Capacities introduced the Director-General to the staff of National Széchényi Library. In recent years, the Hungarian government has implemented HUF 10 billion IT development in NSZL.
