“The head of nature turning into autumn” – ARANY (GOLDEN) Autumn in fine arts and literature – Mátyás Stróbl’s projected presentation entitled Arany’s sculptor, Alajos Stróbl  and a literary eve of performing artist Annamária Sudár  entitled “… Father of all of us” – Professor János Arany

From 6 p.m., Mátyás Stróbl, grandson of the great Hungarian sculptor Alajos Stróbl will deliver a lecture entitled Arany’s sculptor, Alajos Stróbl. The event will take place in the Ceremonial Hall of National Széchényi Library, on Floor 6 of the building. What do we know today about Alajos Stróbl? What kind of relationship did he have with János Arany? How the statue composition standing in the garden of the Hungarian National Museum was made? After whom did the master shape those statue figures? What do all his letters and period photos tell us? How do the descendants keep the memory of their famous grandfather?

From 7 p.m., the Ceremonial Hall on Floor 6 will host performing artist Annamária Sudár’s literary eve entitled “… Father of all of us” – Professor János Arany.

The title of the eve was borrowed from a writing of Ágnes Nemes Nagy (“… Father of all of us”), and it refers to the great importance and impact of János Arany’s oeuvre. Recited will be in the program, among others, Canto Six of the Death of Buda (the poem entitled The Legend of the "Miraculous Hind"), ballads entitled Jank Szibinyáni and Beckie Scarlet, poem entitled Steadfastly, some details from the Petőfi –Arany correspondence, detail from Canto Four of Toldi’s Eve, and some poem details inserted into a text flow, and several works on or to Arany, as well as playoffs on texts by Arany: poems and texts by Mihály Babits, László Bogdán, Ferenc Buda, Péter Esterházy, György Faludy, Pál Gyulai, Gyula Illyés, Attila József, Sándor Kányádi, Dezső Kosztolányi, Gyula Krúdy, Sándor Márai, László Nagy, Ottó Orbán, János Pilinszky, Miklós Radnóti, Antal Szerb, Árpád Tóth and Sándor Weöres.
