János Arany exhibition

The exhibition entitled  ”Others get laurel only by leaves…” – Treasures, cult, impact history is based on unique treasures stored in the Manuscript Collection of NSZL, and on period first publications in journals, book editions. At the same time, it also focuses on issues such as the reception and cult of Arany.

Conference of special libraries

Project Manager János Káldos and László Boka, Director of Research and Academic Affairs and Deputy Director-General of NSZL delivered a lecture at the conference held in the Hungarian Central Statistical Office on March 21, 2017. Aim of the conference was to discuss current issues related to special libraries and to present the state and achievements of various types of special libraries.

After the Day of Hungarian Poetry – Turkish poetry and music culture of the Ottoman occupation

On the third eve of the lecture series, entitled Orientalists in NSZL and presenting the culture of the East, Balázs Sudár will deliver a lecture at 5 p.m. on April 12, 2017.

Entitled After the Day of Hungarian Poetry – Turkish poetry and music culture of the Ottoman occupation, his lecture will give the audience an introduction to the literary and music culture of the Ottoman occupation, both by talking and singing.

A Shakespeare-day in National Széchényi Library

2017/03/28

As a closing programme of Shakespeare Live (400th anniversary of the death of the Bard), a sonnet performance of Leeds Beckett University staff and a talk show with lecture by Prof. Noel Witts and Ildikó Sirató, Head of Collection of Theatre History will be held in Boardroom 516 of NSZL between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on March 28, 2017.
