On the occasion of the International Greek Language Day, the Manolis Glezos Greek School in Budapest organised a poet recitation competition on 10 February 2023 at the NSZL.
On the occasion of the 220th anniversary of the founding of the National Széchényi Library, it received congratulations and commemorations from many of its European partners.
The heads of 17 national libraries and the President of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) expressed their congratulations in the form of a video, underlining the important role of libraries in preserving, researching and making accessible our written cultural heritage.
The first major permanent exhibition, Essence, was dedicated to celebrate the 220th anniversary of the founding of our library in 2022. Paying tribute to the founder, Count Ferenc Széchényi, and recalling the Corvina Library as a historical predecessor, the permanent exhibition is recommended for all ages in Hungarian and English, presenting the complexity and multi-layered nature of the more than ten million documents in the library, and representing the full range of the written Hungarian cultural heritage.

In recent months, we have invested considerable energy in modernising our library services to ensure the continued renewal of the national library. As part of this process, we have upgraded our photocopying service to better meet the needs of our users.
